The Joseph and Nellie Vaitulis Scholarship is offered through Harvest Church. The scholarship will
be awarded based on several considerations, including:
First preference will be given to active participants at Harvest Church. Leadership, service and
active participation in the life of the congregation will be particularly important. Youth who are
active in the Harvest Church youth program, but active participants in another congregation for
other purposes will be considered next after active Harvest Church youth.
Additional preference will be given to students whose parents are actively and primarily engaged in
farming. Other factors that may be considered include community service, extra-curricular
activities, field of study and GPA.
The number of scholarships available will be determined by the Christian Education Board each
year, not to exceed a maximum of eight. The scholarship amount may vary from year to year, as
scholarships will be taken from the interest available and the scholarship will be paid to the school in
which the recipient is enrolled.
Students are eligible to receive the scholarship for a total of eight semesters. Students must
maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) to continue to receive the scholarship.
Applications must be submitted by April 30 to Harvest Church either in person or by mailing the
application to Harvest Church, 481 South Linn Ave. New Hampton, Iowa 50659
